Long before diva became a buzz word in Hollywood, Miss Piggy already performed and lived like one in the hit TV series The Muppet Show. While pigs have endured the negative perception of being dirty, lazy, and gluttonous, Miss Piggy broke the conventions and successfully became the most glamorous pig the porcine and human world has seen.
Miss Piggy started out with a minor role in The Muppet Show. With her flamboyance and indomitable ambition to become a star, it didn't take long before she made all pigs proud and became one of the main characters in the show. Miss Piggy proved to be a well-rounded (pun unintended) performer who can throw a mean karate chop while still looking fabulous in pearls.
After all, she's a pink belter in Pig Wan Do. Miss Piggy has worked with (and even upstaged, as some would argue) some of the renowned stars in show business such as Julie Andrews, Elton John, Bob Hope, and Steve Martin.
Just because Miss Piggy aims to be the star of all pigs doesn't mean she has put her heart in a box and buried it in the backyard. This prima donna pig is just as famous for her undisguised affections toward Kermit the Frog. Theirs is a winding love story that has outlasted every other golden couple of Tinseltown. In the film The Muppets Take Manhattan, Miss Piggy and Kermit were wed although it was later shown that the validity of the marriage may have only been limited to the film. Regardless of the technicalities though, Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are still very much together and I'm sure all pigs and frogs would agree that it's really all that matters.
